Balancing Stock Density and Soil Health

I’ve been experimenting with different grazing patterns to improve soil health and noticed that adjusting stock density can yield significant benefits. For instance, in my last rotation, I found that increasing the density for a short period led to better nutrient cycling and grass regrowth. Has anyone else seen similar results, or do you have different strategies that work well?

I’ve definitely seen the benefits of varying stock density too! Last summer, I bumped it up for a week and saw the grass bounce back like it was on a trampoline. Just be careful not to overdo it — sometimes less is more, right?

Increasing stock density can really get the grass growing like it’s had a caffeine boost! I tried it last season for a few days, and the results were fantastic, but I’ve also found that too much pressure can backfire. @noah_wilson99, have you tried alternating high density with longer rest periods?

I tried increasing stock density for a short time, just like you did, and it really revived my pastures. I’ve found that keeping an eye on the soil moisture levels during those times can help maximize the benefits — if it’s too dry, you might not see the same response. Have you noticed how seasonal changes affect your grazing patterns?
